PROVE IT!

Today, I want to reach out to fellow believers. The haters of God love to torment us, especially at Easter or Christmas. “Prove it!” they say with a sneer. Most Christians try to do just that. Why? Because we want them to have and to know Jesus Christ. It rarely happens, but we’ll never stop being a witness for our beloved Savior.

Not long ago, the Lord showed me Matthew 7:6, “Do not give what is holy to dogs and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet and turn and tear you to pieces.”

I had this written on a slip of paper. I was smarting from a conversation that had left me “torn to pieces” and confused about that person’s salvation. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed that slip of paper floating and I watched as it landed on the floor near me. Dear Reader, that was a hug from God.

John 12:1-50 might be of comfort to you. Verse 37, “But though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on Him.” If watching Jesus do miracles and wonders could not convince them, how can anything we say persuade them? There must be a reason, but it’s not for me to worry about.

I love to hear Christians tell of their experiences with God. Dr. Charles Stanley was never shy about sharing his relationship with the Lord. I listened to the doubters ridicule him, but he kept right on sharing with us. He was telling the truth. God cares about every moment of our lives, just like a “real dad” does here.

When I started my blog, I wanted folks to know that God was real and that if they sincerely searched for Him, He would make Himself known to them. But here’s the thing . . . it isn’t going to ruin my day if they don’t believe me.

As soon as the conversation becomes bitter, I do not continue being a witness to them. I have wondered and prayed about my attitude and lack of concern. I will not argue with them, but I do put them in God’s hands.

God brought me to this 12th chapter of John and verse 40 explains a lot. “HE HATH BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HARDENED THEIR HEART; THAT THEY SHOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES, NOR UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED, AND I SHOULD HEAL THEM.” When all the words are all capitalized, my eyebrows lift.

Romans 1:20-21, “For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”

I am thrilled by all the young people on Instagram that clearly cherish the Lord. I dearly love the older ones, too. I want this message to encourage those that are witnessing for Jesus, and feeling discouraged. Take all you’re feeling to God. Ask for His protection, wisdom, and discernment.

When the haters find you, pray for them and move on. They are truly miserable and would love to ruin your day. Pity them. Some have lived with their hatred of God, and His children, for so long that they would be out-of-place, if deprived of it. God bless you, dear Reader.
