My Bio

I am like that clay pot in Scripture– common, weak and valued only by what I contain.  It is Christ Jesus in me that gives me worth.  Any talent, or wisdom, that I hold comes from Him.  As I let Him mold me to His will, my hands accomplish what He sets my mind and heart to do.  My hand may pen the words, but any book that I write is far above and beyond my human abilities.

The Lord gave me a love of words and reading.  I read at least one book a week.  My education consists of a high school diploma and one day of college.  All I ever wanted to be was a wife and mother.  For a time, I designed patterns in crochet and plastic canvas, which were published in several magazines, but This Side of Heaven is my first novel.  I finished it two weeks before my seventy-first birthday.

I want to be a light for senior citizens who think that their life is over and it is too late for them to accomplish anything.  I hope to be productive up until the time that the Lord takes me home.  My second novel is in progress and I am working on a book for my grandson.  Both of my novels are stories set in the 1800’s with horses, dogs, and Christian characters.  They have normal conflicts as a couple, but share the problems of their life as man and wife.

My husband of fifty-two years is helping me publish my work as an e-book.  We have one daughter, one grandson and one granddog.  There are as also ten spoiled hens and one beautiful rooster in our lives.  They roam free on an acre of land.  We had three dogs and a cat that thought he was a dog, but they grew old and died.  That was almost unbearable.  No beloved animals die in my novels.
