Our day had been stressful, and we were late getting to the grocery store. As my husband and I walked through the door, I heard the softest voice say, “ma’am.”
When I turned around, the sweetest face was beside me. She lowered her eyes when I looked at her, and I realized she was shy. She was leaving the store, and she was offering me a coupon that would give me $10 off my groceries.
She explained that she had two coupons, but they would only let her use one per visit. She thoughtfully asked if I would like to have it, as it expired in a few hours. She had no way of knowing that I had been upset over missing out on that coupon. My husband smiled at me, because he had listened to me fuss about it several times.
God amazes me. His fingerprints were all over that priceless coupon. I wonder if she felt His presence. His children are under His supernatural care, and He loves to delight us. Yes, tribulations come to us, but the Lord has a purpose for them. I have never suffered like Job, but I often think of him when I am shaken by a truly bad day.
I love the Lord. I accept His will in my life, no matter what, because He died for me. God has revealed to me, that His hand is cupped, so I will not fall out of it. I cling tightly to His many promises in Scripture, especially Hebrews 13:5, and Romans 8:28. He will NEVER leave me, and He WILL work it out for good.
The state of the world frightens me, even though I know it is God’s will that we are experiencing such calamity. Insight tells me that He is furious with mankind. Hebrews 10:31 comes to mind. “It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” It reassures me when I see His fingerprints in my life. Look for them in yours.
It might be major, or nothing more than a butterfly landing on your hand, and hanging out with you for a while. Maybe God will draw your eyes to one of His tiny creatures camouflaged near you. I love nature and the Lord loves to share it with me. He knows the simple pleasures that you treasure, too. Maybe it is rocks, or a shell on the beach. He will share those treasures with you.
My beautiful friend was trying to make a major decision in her life. She was on her back porch talking to God, when a Red Admiral butterfly landed on her finger. It perched on her face, and then decided to try out her arm. Each time she came outside that day, the butterfly landed on her.
She called me and asked if I thought God was encouraging her to make the change. My yard is full of butterflies. They ignore me. I encouraged her to go with what her heart was telling her to do, and to have peace about it. The butterfly was a hug from Him. She loves nature more than I do. She will scoop up bugs and put them back outside.
Are you here on my blog searching for God? There are witnesses in the Bible, but also walking among you. They know Him as a father and a friend. Scripture promises that if you search for Him with all of your heart, He will be found. God knows your thoughts, so be honest with Him. Ask for help with your doubt.
Hebrews 11:6 is one of my favorite verses. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” This verse is verifiable. Sincerely seek Him. Be persistent. He made Himself known to me when I was fourteen, but it was not immediate.
Open His Word and begin searching for the love of your life. May I suggest starting in Luke? Why? I read that he interviewed Mary, the mother of Jesus. I like the way Doctor Luke presents my Lord and Savior.
