Kindness Is Important to God

When I started this blog, my plan was to be a witness for those searching for God. I wanted my readers to realize that a relationship with the Lord was very possible and very rewarding. I apologize for dropping the ball.

For quite a while, I have felt like the world was spinning in the Twilight Zone, but I was wrong. Alfred Hitchcock Presents comes closer to describing this topsy-turvy world. The Alfred Hitchcock Hour always had a surprise ending. I keep reminding myself that God is in control of my life.

Oliver Anthony’s new song, Rich Men North of Richmond, spoke to my heart. I am “an old soul living in the new world.” If not for my relationship with Jesus, I would be terrified. Discernment tells me that God is judging mankind and the world is heating up for a reason that has nothing to do with climate change.

Kindness towards each other has never been more important. Every human being on this planet came from Adam and Eve. God wants us to be kind to each other. There is such a spirit of hate and anger and evil pouring out of hell right now. Please, do not let it control you.

I saw it in action last week while going to the podiatrist with my husband. A lady needed an appointment with the gastrologist, but the receptionist was trying to explain that she did not work for him. She lost her patience, because the persistent lady was wearing a mask and she had a heavy Asian accent, which made her very hard to understand.

Because of the mask, I was tempted to turn aside from this woman in need. I watched her walk away, but the Lord pressed me to ask if I could help. It took more than a few minutes to make her understand, but I am so glad that I did. She needed to see the doctor that would use that same office the next day. This is a common practice in our small town, but can be confusing. The office staff changes with each doctor.

That sweet woman’s husband was in a nursing home. She visited him daily, but she was really missing him. She envied my husband and I being together and taking care of each other. She is on my prayer list, even though I do not know her name.

The mask made me nervous. Just the other day I asked a lady at the store a question and she jumped away from me. She was wearing a mask. I was horrified that I had frightened her. She quickly explained that she was battling cancer and her immune system was low. I now stay away from folks wearing a mask.

An update on my initial blog…no one came forward. I still have hope of finding the person that God used to take me across the river.

I strongly felt the urge to write Katie’s Quest for Truth. It is fiction, but it is about my search for God and how He made Himself known to me. I am offering the book free, until the end of October. Use SEEKHIM as the code for a free download.

My fifth book, Be Strong and Courageous, will be available soon. I enjoy writing in the 19th century, because God’s word was loved and revered during that era. My characters forage for food and medicine, use guns skillfully, care for their animals and each other. They have been educated with Bibles, they know Scripture, and they seek God daily.

My story always begins in a valley. I want my characters to climb that mountain together, while their relationship with God matures. Christians have sex, so there is sexual innuendo, but I let my readers use their imagination. I want my grandson to be able to read my books, yet it is God’s opinion that matters.

The Lord uses our tribulations to build our faith. I strive to honor Him in my books, by opening a window to His character and His love for those that seek refuge in Him. When timely Scripture applies to the story, I use my favorite Bible…the KJV.

I bring my characters together as soon as possible, so my readers can experience their love for each other, while said characters struggle with doubt, faith, fear, and suffering as a married couple. I want my readers to enjoy escaping this crazy world and visiting a time when life was hard, but simple. Katie’s Quest for Truth, is written when computers came on the scene. My 6th book, Forsaken, will be in 21st century.
